For many years, low income neighborhoods as such Lincoln Heights have received the worst of the worse in food resources; this has made these communities virtual “food deserts.” These communities lack adequate markets and healthy foods, leaving the community with inferior stores that lack high quality food and selection, therefore leaving us with fast food outlets as our primary options.
